Hello! Welcome to our new blog Style Notes. We’ve decided to share this blog as we have a lot to say – and we want you to hear it! We’ve got loads of fashion tips, advice, stories and more – and we’re so excited to let you know all about it.
Before I get into our origins story (think feature-film worthy), I want to introduce you a little to our team. Firstly, hey! I’m Charlii, the voice behind these blogs, and the blonde girl with the tight ponytail and the phone always in her hand, the girl behind the social media and marketing. I work alongside our amazing owner Marina, who puts in all the blood, sweat and tears into this business.
Our team also consists of Sherryl and Charlotte, our sales assistants – who are ready to help you choose an outfit from head to toe! You’ll meet our team a little more in a later post.
Marina first started her career in the fitness industry as a PT, and you’ll often still see her at the gym, lifting weights and doing crazy workouts! She then moved into the finance sector, and worked in the city. She then decided to do something different, and started business in the childcare sector, owning multiple childcare centres whilst having children of her own. Our very own superstar mum! She knew nothing about childcare, but wanted something different. Clearly she made an impact on these little ones, as we still have people coming in asking to see Miss Marina.
After these childcare centres, she opened House of Georga, her first ladies fashion boutique. House of Georga became Symphony’s on Argyle, which I’m standing in right now writing this post, 20 years later.
Our little fashion boutique is in the heart of Camden, and we have so many incredible customers coming in every single day. From customers we see weekly (and some daily…yes we’re looking at you Deb), to customers we’ve never met before – we’re so eternally grateful to everyone who walks in our door (except that one person who literally walked into it one night and smashed the glass, now we no longer have a pretty sign).
Get ready for this wild ride of blog posts, and make sure you really read for the little funny commentary throughout – unfortunately I do love a good sneaky comment.
C x
